At College Journey Coaching, I believe every student has the potential to excel...both academically and personally. As an Independent Educational Consultant, I work closely with students throughout their entire college planning and application journey. From exploring interests and building a balanced college list to managing deadlines, crafting strong applications, and making final decisions, I provide personalized support every step of the way. My goal is to make the process less stressful and more empowering while helping students discover the path that’s right for them.
Welcome to College Journey Coaching!
I help students explore possible career paths and potential majors while in high school. I guide them in selecting coursework and summer experiences that align with their interests and support their long-term goals.
I guide students in choosing activities, internships, and summer programs that reflect who they are (not what they think colleges want). I help them build meaningful involvement that tells a clear, authentic story.
I help students choose high-school courses that match their strengths, interests, and goals. I make sure their academic path supports both personal growth and future college options.
I help students prepare for the shift to college life when it comes to academics, independence, self-management, and expectations. I focus on building practical skills they can carry with them.
I help students decide whether to take standardized tests, which test to select, when to schedule them, and how often to take them. I also guide them on whether submitting test scores will strengthen their application and how test-optional policies fit into their overall strategy.
I help students build personalized college lists based on academic fit, social environment, financial considerations, and personality. I introduce students to options they may not have discovered on their own, creating a balanced and thoughtful list.
I help families decide which campuses to visit and make the most of each trip. I offer guidance on what to look for, what to ask, and how to evaluate fit afterward.
I guide students through the Common App and other platforms, explain what each section requires, and help them stay organized with timelines and task management.
I coach students (as needed) on how to present themselves with confidence. We practice common questions, storytelling, and communication skills so they feel prepared and comfortable.
I help students brainstorm personal statement ideas, shape their narrative, and refine drafts. I offer clear, supportive feedback that helps elevate their writing while keeping their voice front and center.
I help parents understand the admissions timeline and how to support their student without adding pressure. This helps keep everyone aligned and reduces confusion and stress.
I walk families through the basics of financial aid, including FAFSA, need-based aid, and merit aid concepts. I don’t fill out forms or apply for aid, but I help families understand the landscape and next steps.
